Battlefields Post #144 was formally chartered by the American Legion 75 years ago, in 1934, in Highland Springs, Virginia. Through the 1970s, our Post Home was a log cabin constructed by members in the early years of the Post and its activities. Today, we own and occupy a fine structure on Old Hanover Road near the intersection of Airport Road North and I-295.

The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) is a US-headquartered patriotic service organization for women interested in voluntary service. It is a non-profit organization, affiliated with The American Legion (a veterans’ service organization). There are nearly one million Auxiliary members in 10,100 communities across the world.

The American Legion Riders are a diverse group of motorcycle enthusiasts sharing common goals. All are members or spouses of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion—and all are united by patriotism. They answer the call to ride in service to America’s military, her veterans, and for the children and youth of our country.
