VOW to Hire Veterans Act of 2012

We have served veterans and the community of Highland Springs, Virginia for over 76 years. The American Legion chartered Battlefields Post #144 on January 27, 1934. That same year, the veterans of World War I built and dedicated the first Post Home on Mapleleaf Avenue in Highland Springs. In 1967, Battlefields Post #144 moved to our current location on Old Hanover Road. Along with Legion Auxiliary Unit 144 and American Legion Riders 144, we welcome all!

The American Legion and Battlefields Post #144 serve our veterans, their families, their community, and our nation. The legacy of the American Legion includes, for example, the GI Bill of Rights and its successors. The United States was, and continues to be, transformed by the millions of veterans who have been able to obtain higher education through the GI Bill. We in Battlefields Post #144 are committed to the principles of the American Legion.
